On April 24, the Chinese Embassy in Liberia held the launching ceremony for the Guizhou Village Super League Friendly Matches. Hon. Samuel Stevquoah, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon. Cornelia Kruah, Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Charlyne Taylor, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with other Liberian government officials and the Liberian Youth football team members were present.
Ambassador Yin stated that the Guizhou Village Super League Friendly Matches is an important event of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges in Liberia. It is hoped that by their visiting to Guizhou, the Liberian youth football players could serve as ambassadors for exchanges, acting as a link between young people and contributing to sports cooperation between China and Liberia. He hoped the youth of both countries deepen their friendship, move forward together, and help promote bilateral relations.
Minister Stevquoah, Minister Kruah, Assistant Minister Taylor and other Liberian guests expressed their gratitude to China for its long-term support for the development of sports in Liberia. They stated that people-to-people exchanges, including sports, help strengthen the bonds between the peoples and promote peaceful development. They looked forward to this Friendly Match further enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
During the ceremony, Chinese and Liberian participants also watched the introduction video of the Village Super League held in Guizhou Province, China.
