Neal Statement on Another Delayed Jobs Report

SPRINGFIELD, MA- Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics delayed releasing the January 2026 jobs report:

"Government jobs data remain the gold standard, but since Trump will find any excuse to delay its release, we're left only with reports from third parties of the worst layoffs to start a year since the Great Recession.

"Trump's abysmal economy is doing exactly what he intended it to do: fail workers and families so he can ransack the rest for his own pockets."
