5 Things for November 2026
November is here, the holidays are quickly approaching and your library wants to keep you learning, engaged and inspired all year long.
-
This November we are challenging our readers to "Read Something True, Learn Something New" for KNOW-VEMBER! All month long, staff will highlight their non-fiction picks that they have read and love on social media. We want you all to comment and tell us your favorites too. Go to your library to learn something new during Know-vember.
-
November is Native American HeritageMonth and we will highlight Native American Month every Tuesday on our social media outlets. Read someone new and discover new perspectives through reading across culture. Check at your branches for book displays!
-
This November we are celebrating Gratitude. With Thanksgiving coming up, we are thankful for the patrons who support us through regular visits. We are also very thankful for our Foundation and Friends. Library users can support us through donations to the Foundation at this link https://fmcfl.org/give.
-
The Online Resources we are promoting this month are VetNow and Culturegrams. We want our Veterans to know there are resources including job searching to support them available on VetNow. On Culturegrams, users can explore different cultures around the world and learn about the people, the history, the customs and more.
-
This month, all MCFL branches will be closed on Wednesday,November 11 in recognition of Veterans Day. For Thanksgiving, all branches will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.
We look forward to seeing you at the library!
