Plumas County is seeking input on and feedback about expanding charging stations for electric vehicles for year-round and part-time residents, and to help increase tourism and business opportunities. This plan is funded by a grant from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to shape access help Plumas County thoughtfully plan for electric vehicle charging. The Plumas County EV Plan website, developed in partnership with Kittelson & Associates, has information about EVs, charging stations, and the goals of the project. It also has an interactive map that shows existing public EV charging stations and asks residents, businesses, and visitors to share input about potential sites for additional charging stations. The survey will remain open for feedback through the end of April 2026 and will inform the County's Electric Vehicle Charging Plan.
Additionally, Kittelson and the County are hosting three webinars to help residents, businesses, and nonprofits understand the benefits of EVs and to understand how to choose and install charging stations at residences, lodgings, and businesses. The webinars are:

The Plumas County EV Master Plan is using technical analysis, community engagement, and regional coordination to create a data-driven roadmap to guide developing public and private EV charging stations. The consultant team of Kittelson & Associates and DKS is evaluating travel patterns, land use, and infrastructure readiness to identify priority areas for new charging stations, and it will include recommendations to support local jurisdictions and community-based organizations working to expand access. This work supports Plumas County's broader goals for mobility, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
