Colorado Christian University Professors Participate in National "America Reads the Bible" Event at Museum of the Bible
LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Faculty from Colorado Christian University recently participated in America Reads the Bible, a national Scripture reading event, held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. CCU also served as a sponsor organization of the event.
The weeklong initiative brought together leaders from across the country to read the Bible aloud from beginning to end as part of a unified, public engagement with Scripture.
"The reading marked a wonderful opportunity for our faculty at Colorado Christian University to joyfully proclaim biblical wisdom to the nation through God's Word-an activity that takes place within our broader academic community each day and is at the core of our university's mission," said Colorado Christian University Provost Dr. David Corbin.
Representing CCU, Dr. David Bosworth, professor of New Testament Studies and Mission and Dr. Seth Rodriquez, associate professor of Old Testament Studies and Biblical Archaeology, served as featured readers on Tuesday, April 21.
Dr. Bosworth read from 1 Chronicles 5-6, followed by Dr. Rodriguez, who read 1 Chronicles 7:1-9:34.
"In Isaiah 55:10-11, God declares that just like the rain falls, waters the ground, and brings new life, His word goes forth, accomplishes the work He intends to do, and doesn't come back empty," said Dr. Rodriquez. "I was honored to help read the Bible to our nation during this weeklong event, sending forth the Word of God into the hearts and lives of Americans. My prayer is that it stirs a deeper desire in people to engage Scripture for themselves and discover the beauty and truth found in its pages."
The event featured continuous public readings and a livestream, offering audiences across the country an opportunity to engage with Scripture in a shared national setting.
Recordings of the readings are available on Pure Flix under "Catch Up on America Reads the Bible," where both faculty members appear in Season 3 ("1 Chronicles 5-16").
Colorado Christian University continues to engage in initiatives that reflect its mission of integrating faith and learning while equipping students and faculty to impact the world with grace and truth.
