In heartening signs, sales of Combine Harvesters reached 200 units in the month which is 80% ahead of the same month last year and is now 4% ahead on a full rolling 12-month basis. Whilst this still represents a full year figure of around 700 units, down on previous years, this level of activity has injected some much needed optimism in the overall health of the market.
In support of this, Sales of Balers reported another strong month with over 100 units sold bringing the rolling 12-month figure to a level of 41% ahead of last year
Tractor sales were broadly in line with last September with around 800 machines sold. On a year-to-date basis, this is now down 11% as farmers continue to wrestle with the challenge of higher input costs.
The month was dominated by sales of larger machines with NSW, Vic, SA and Tas reporting improvement.
