The Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences will welcome healthcare leaders, educators, pharmacists and students from across North Carolina this summer as it co-hosts the 2026 North Carolina Medical Journal Symposium, "Pharmacists as Catalysts for Better Health," alongside the North Carolina Institute of Medicine and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
Scheduled for June 17 on Campbell University's campus in Buies Creek, the symposium will bring together experts from across healthcare to discuss the evolving role pharmacists play in improving access to care and advancing health outcomes throughout North Carolina. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature conversations centered on collaboration across healthcare disciplines and innovative approaches to patient care.
The symposium will highlight the many ways pharmacists are helping meet healthcare needs in communities across the state, including through home care services, mobile clinics and other patient centered settings.
"The 2026 NCMJ Symposium will provide an important opportunity to explore how pharmacists continue to serve as essential healthcare partners in addressing the many challenges related to access, workforce needs and care delivery," said Dr. Jeff Mercer, dean of the Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. "We are thrilled to host this prestigious event on our beautiful campus and welcome healthcare leaders from across North Carolina for meaningful conversations about the future of patient care and collaboration."
Hosting the symposium reflects CPHS' ongoing commitment to interprofessional education, healthcare innovation and preparing future healthcare professionals to serve communities across North Carolina and beyond. The event will also provide an opportunity for students, faculty and practitioners to engage with leaders from multiple healthcare sectors while discussing emerging opportunities for collaboration and impact.
Additional information and registration details are available through the North Carolina Institute of Medicine. Registration is $25, and students may attend free by using the code NCMJ2026 during registration.
