The European Commission has completed the annual update of the EU Tourism Dashboard.
The EU Tourism Dashboard is an online knowledge platform developed and maintained by the European Commission. It offers interactive visualisations of data and indicators to promote and monitor the green and digital transitions and socio-economic resilience of European tourism.
It currently includes 35 indicators and descriptors characterising tourist destinations in Europe, allowing for example to compare the quality of bathing waters, internet speed or tourism intensity per destination. The indicators are organised under three policy pillars: green, digital and socio-economic, plus basic descriptors, with data starting in 2019 and now reaching 2024 in most cases. The indicators are calculated at regional and/or national level and, as of December 2025, some indicators are available for the municipal level for the first time. They rely on statistical data primarily from Eurostat, complemented with additional data processed by the Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC).
The 2025 update features two new indicators: women employment in tourism and the proportion of short-term rentals. It also includes an overall overhaul of descriptions and explanations, a new section with thematic articles and the possibility to choose between current and constant prices. Technical modifications also made the Dashboard faster, more accessible and user-friendly.
