Best High School Sports Innovation and Marketing Executive of the Year
Hunt Valley, MD - June 5, 2026 - AMP Sports, a division of Sinclair, today announced that its High School Division has been honored with two 2026 National Cynopsis Sports Awards, Best High School Sports Innovation and Marketing Executive of the Year.
The recognition highlights Sinclair's continued leadership in expanding access to high school sports and driving meaningful community impact.
In the Best High School Sports Innovation category, AMP was recognized for redefining how audiences access high school athletics. Its multi-platform approach delivers free, accessible content across broadcast, livestream, and social media, strengthening connections between schools and their communities.
Stephen Mann, Executive Producer of AMP's High School Sports Division, was named Marketing Executive of the Year for bringing high school sports to broader audiences through innovative distribution and storytelling. Mann founded the division in 2007.
"High school sports are the heartbeat of our local communities, and these honors reflect the passion and innovation our teams bring to student-athletes and fans every single season. Enriching local lives is what drives us, and this is a reminder of the impact we're making. We couldn't be prouder of the recognition from Cynopsis," said Rob Weisbord, COO and President of Local Media.
AMP's High School Division airs more than 500 live events annually and generates over 20 million fan interactions each year. Its signature franchises, Thursday Night Lights, Friday Night Rivals, and High School Hoops, spotlight student-athletes while celebrating educators, schools, and local pride.
Now entering its 20th season, the division has delivered more than $5.5 million to student-athletes and schools through scholarships and financial givebacks.
