DCR furlough day Friday, Elections partially open for filing deadline

The Denver Clerk & Recorder (DCR), will be closed on Friday, Aug. 29, for a city-mandated furlough day. Aug. 29 is also the final day to submit an affidavit to run as a write-in candidate in the 2025 Coordinated Election. As a result, the office will have a limited number of elections staff on hand to receive any affidavits submitted on that day. However, all other DCR services will be closed and unavailable.
The office is closed on Monday, Sept. 1 for Labor Day. All normal DCR services will resume on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The Denver Clerk & Recorder stands in solidarity with our fellow civil servants and is honoring the requirement of two city-mandated furlough days which are Aug. 29 and Nov. 28., 2025. In addition, staff will participate in the tiered furlough day schedule based on pay grade.
