Monterey Park Seeks Community Input for January 21 Memorial Project

Survey responses will guide the creation of a permanent tribute to victims and survivors

The City of Monterey Park is inviting residents and community members to participate in a public survey to help shape the emotional tone of a permanent memorial honoring the victims, survivors and all those affected by the tragic events of January 21, 2023.

This collaborative process will ensure that the memorial reflects the collective values, voices and experiences of the Monterey Park community. Feedback from the survey will directly inform the development of a Request for Proposals (RFP), through which qualified artists and creative teams will be invited to submit concepts for a thoughtful and lasting tribute space.

The survey is available online at www.montereypark.ca.gov/jan21memorial (or https://www.research.net/r/3GFH2F2) and will remain open through June 15, 2025. Residents may also access the survey by scanning the QR code.
