JBT Marel's ACM-T automated turkey cut-up system has been upgraded with an enhanced housing, improving the robustness and safety and allowing for visual checks.
As industry trends show, turkeys are getting heavier and processing capacities continue to increase. Equipment must be built to handle tougher conditions. That means greater product weights at higher line speeds. At the same time, safety regulations evolve with this trend, demanding more robust solutions. JBT Marel has responded to these challenges with the newly designed ACM-T cut-up system. It is engineered for performance and durability in today's high-capacity processing environments and its modules can efficiently cut up to 2,000 turkeys per hour into wings, breasts, legs, drumsticks, and necks.
The metal structure of the ACM-T has been reinforced to comply with the most stringent technological regulations. Aluminum is not used; all metal components are made of stainless steel, improving the stability, reliability and longevity of the equipment.
As before, the ACM-T provides virtually unlimited layout options and production flexibility, delivering high-yield, A-grade cuts tailored to specific market requirements. No matter which or how many cutting modules are installed in the ACM-T, the entire system is now enclosed with mesh fencing. This design allows for visual inspection of the module settings. An operator can check from outside the fencing whether, for example, the stepless height adjustment of the front half cutter or the drum-thigh cutter requires correction. If necessary, doors in the fence can be opened to fine-tune a module for the specific flock of turkeys passing through the ACM-T at that moment.
The mesh fencing also creates a closed environment that prevents access to the modules and avoids unintentional operator interference. It complies with the latest CE regulations and safety requirements for processing environments. This means the fencing extends all the way to the floor, instead of leaving an open space between the floor and the bottom of the equipment.
