Critical Incidents Report for November 2025
In November, TMPA opened 14 case files for critical incidents Critical incidents are cases in which an officer's actions, conduct, or omissions resulted in the death or serious bodily injury of a person; or could have resulted in such harm as a result of the officer intentionally discharging his or her firearm. These critical incidents involved members from various agencies throughout the state including: Bell County Sheriff's Office, Bosque County Sheriff's Office, Cedar Park Police Department, Corsicana ISD Police Department, Crockett Police Department, Denton Police Department, Galveston County Sheriff's Office, Hill County Sheriff's Office, Killeen Police Department, Lee County Sheriff's Office, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Palestine Polce Department, Seguin Police Department, and include the following:
1. Attorney Robert McCabe assisted member who was involved in a pursuit fatality.
2. Member was involved in a shooting with a suspect who, upon exiting a residence, began shooting at officers. Member returned fire and suspect is believed to be deceased. Attorney John Snider with Bob Gorsky's firm responded to scene to assist member with statement.
3. Member was involved in a pursuit fatality. Attorney Lytza Rojas assisted member with statement.
4. Member was dispatched to a home with an unknown suspect in the yard. When member gave commands to suspect, suspect reached in pocket as if grabbing a gun. Member fired duty weapon missing suspect. Suspect again reaches in pocket when member tases suspect. No injuries occurred. Attorney Kenneth Biggs assisted member with statement.
5. Members were involved in an in-custody death where the member tased an inmate and the inmate suddenly passed away. Attorney Marsha Todd assisted members with statements.
6. Attorney Amanda Bolin assisted member who was involved in a pursuit where a suspect committed suicide.
7. Member was involved in an accidental shooting. Member shot self in hand. Attorney Lance Wyatt assisted member with statement.
8. Member was involved in an in-custody death and was assisted by attorney William Hon.
9. Attorney Amanda Bolin assisted members who were involved in an in-custody death from a pursuit.
10.Member was involved in auto/ped accident where the pedestrian died. Attorney Tiger Hanner responded and assisted member with statement.
11. Attorney Lance Wyatt assisted member who was involved in an in-custody death of an inmate.
12. Three other critical incidents involving an on-duty shooting (Attorneys who assisted include Steve Dunbar, Robert McCabe, John Cullar.)
