Holiday travel is coming sooner than you think! Be sure you're prepared with your essentials!
Fall is almost upon us, and with fall, comes holiday travel soon after. Whether you are flying to visit loved ones or just to have fun, there are some things you'll need for your flight to go smoothly. Don't be caught without the essentials! Read on for our picks for the seven best Made in America airport travel needs.
Travel Bags
While roller suitcases are a common sight at airports, sometimes you need a duffel bag or a smaller cosmetics case. These travel cases from Cinda B are stylish, with plenty of different sizes to fit any need. If you're going to a concert or another event while travelling, you can also find clear bags that will fit with many venues' guidelines. Plus, Cinda B has many other products - and all of them are Made in Indiana!
Packing Cubes
Nothing is worse than realizing you don't have enough room for everything you need for your trip. You can avoid that fate by investing in packing cubes, and our pick is the cubes from Red Oxx. These cubes will help you make smart use of limited space, with cubes for everything from your shirts to your shoes. You can pick and choose which sizes work for you or you can buy the whole set with one of each. Red Oxx places so much trust in their Made in Montana products that you'll get a lifetime warranty on these cubes. That's how you know that you can rely on these cubes to help you with all of your packing needs!
Water Bottles
There may be some recent changes to the TSA guidelines, but one thing that hasn't changed is that you won't be able to bring any larger liquids with your carry-on luggage. Instead of buying a plastic water bottle after security, try a refillable bottle from Nalgene. There's plenty of colors and designs to choose from. Plus, you'll be lessening your environmental impact, both because Nalgenes are reusable and because many of their options are made with recycled plastics! And of course, it's far more cost effective than buying a plastic water bottle every time you fly. Keep in mind though, Nalgene's other products may not be Made in the USA, so check labels!
Travel Wallet
Are you a seasoned international traveller? Then you'll appreciate these travel wallets from WaterField Designs. Although they are pricier, this San Francisco-based company emphasizes quality craftsmanship in all of their products, so you know your wallet will be built to last. This special travel wallet even has a built-in magnet to help you keep your loose travel documents together. WaterField offers a variety of other American-made products that are a great fit for travelling, including duffel bags and laptop bags, so be sure to check them out!
Cleanliness Items
Airports and airplanes can get a little gross. For your peace of mind, try out the products from PlaneAire. Designed specifically for travel, PlaneAire offers hand sanitizers, wet wipes, and other items that will help you stay clean while on the go. All of PlaneAire's products are made with organic essential oils and are vegan and cruelty-free, so they're a great alternative to other travel size cleaning supplies on the market.
Neck Pillow
Travel is exhausting. If you're hoping to get some shut-eye on your next flight, a neck pillow will make your life a lot easier, especially this one from Core Products. Designed with neck comfort and health in mind, this pillow is simple, but effective. Unlike many other neck pillows on the market, this one is designed for use both on a plane and at home, so you won't find yourself only using it while you travel. If you want a pillow case for your neck pillow, you can grab this one, also Made in the USA! Core Products specializes in all kinds of items designed to help limit pain, and many (but not all: check labels!) are Made in Wisconsin, so you can rely on them even beyond your upcoming trip!
Ear Plugs
A neck pillow may keep you comfortable, but it won't keep the noises of the plane or the crying baby in the row in front of you out. For that, you'll need ear plugs. My family swears by Mack's earplugs. They are very effective at blocking out noise without being uncomfortable to wear. They're useful for sleeping, studying, and even swimming: they're the official pick of the US Swim Team. You'll need to check labels, since not all of Mack's products are American made, but there's plenty of great options that are for you to check out!
