PES Women convened its Executive Meeting, bringing together members to discuss current political developments on gender equality, upcoming international engagements and priorities for the months ahead.
The Executive reviewed preparations for CSW70 in New York, including planned events, coordination with partners, and efforts to organise high-level political and ministerial meetings. Members also discussed upcoming activities around International Women's Day on 8 March, with joint actions planned in Brussels together with sister organisations.
A central part of the meeting focused on women's health, including a draft PES Women position paper aimed at strengthening the organisation's political approach beyond sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The exchange benefited from the expertise of MEP Romana Jerković, who shared insights from the European Parliament's working group on women's health, MEPs for Women's Health.
The meeting also marked 20 years of gender budgeting in Vienna, with a dedicated presentation by Michaela Kauer - member of the Executive and Director of the Brussels Office of the City of Vienna - highlighting best practices and lessons that can inspire other cities and countries.
