Ukraine – Unprecedented russian strikes on Kyiv (7 September 2025)

France strongly condemns the strikes carried out today by the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, which damaged the Ukrainian government headquarters and caused numerous casualties, including children.

Today, Russia continues to refuse to negotiate, as it has since February 2022. These unprecedented strikes, occurring less than two weeks after a massive attack on Kyiv, mark a further escalation and once again demonstrate that Russia has no intention of pursuing peace.

France expresses its full solidarity with the Ukrainian people and authorities. It reaffirms its unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Together with its partners, including within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing, France will maintain its commitment to step up support for Ukraine and intensify pressure on Russia to end its war against Ukraine.
