Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović met today in Bar with his Croatian counterpart, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, who is visiting Montenegro on the occasion of the Day of the Croatian People.
Deputy Prime Minister Ibrahimović hosted the Croatian delegation, led by Minister Grlić Radman, for a tour of the training ship "Jadran" at the Port of Bar.
Ministers Ibrahimović and Grlić Radman agreed that Montenegro and Croatia are partners and allies, committed to advancing bilateral relations and maintaining open dialogue on all unresolved issues in the spirit of friendship and good-neighbourly cooperation.
Extending his congratulations on the Day of the Croatian People in Montenegro, Minister Ibrahimović highlighted that the Croatian community significantly enriches Montenegro's cultural diversity and contributes to the country's development processes. He emphasized that Croatia is an essential partner on Montenegro's European path, consistently supporting its integration efforts.
I am confident that, as a neighbouring country and ally, Croatia is eager to see Montenegro join the European Union in the near future. This perspective frames our bilateral relations, and today's meeting reaffirms our genuine dedication to open dialogue on all matters of mutual interest, said Ibrahimović.
He expressed his belief that, as friendly, neighbouring, and allied states, Montenegro and Croatia can achieve mutually acceptable solutions to all outstanding issues. He underscored Montenegro's commitment to translating its dedication to preserving and strengthening good-neighbourly ties with Croatia into actions that will further enhance bilateral relations.
We share democratic values and strategic development goals, and we must not allow anything to hinder our shared European future. Guided by this, we will continue with intensive dialogue and communication in the period ahead, Ibrahimović affirmed.
Minister Grlić Radman reiterated Croatia's strong support for Montenegro's European journey, just as it had supported Montenegro's Euro-Atlantic integration.
What is important to us is the security, stability, and prosperity of Montenegro as a future EU member state. Montenegro will continue to have Croatia's full support and expert assistance, as it has over the years, as we strongly advocate for the successful completion of its European path, said Grlić Radman.
He emphasized that all unresolved issues would be addressed bilaterally, praising the Government of Montenegro for its strong interest in resolving them. Montenegro can count on an outstretched hand, and I am confident that we will continue this constructive dialogue in the same affirmative spirit, concluded Grlić Radman.
