Rep. Garamendi Statement on ICE Detainment of Mother and Daughter at SFO

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman John Garamendi (CA-08) issued the following statement in response to ICE agents detaining a mother and daughter at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on Sunday:

"I am deeply concerned for Angelina Lopez-Jimenez and her daughter.

"My team and I, as well as my Bay Area colleagues, are seeking immediate answers to the family's condition and whereabouts.

"While we have received some preliminary answers from ICE, they are insufficient. We are demanding more transparency from ICE as we fight to ensure the family remains united and safe. As this case proceeds, we will continue to fight for due process."
