WASHINGTON D.C. - On Wednesday, Congressman Abe Hamadeh (AZ-08) thanked his fellow Republicans for holding the line and stopping the Democrats' damaging government shutdown. The Democrats shutdown the government, denying Americans access to vital services by refusing to vote for the same Continuing Resolution they had approved during the Biden administration.
"Make no mistake about it; the Democrats' disgusting shutdown was only about attacking President Trump. They didn't care if Americans were collateral damage," stated Congressman Hamadeh.
"I want to thank my fellow Republicans for doing what our constituents asked for; 'holding the line.' On Veterans Day, I spent time across my district with families who were struggling from the effects of the Democrats' shutdown. I heard from veterans who have selflessly served this country and their families who have made considerable sacrifices for our great country. Despite their pain, they urged me to hold the line. I am proud to say that I and my fellow Republicans have done just that, and I believe the results will benefit all citizens," stated Congressman Hamadeh. "The Democrats accomplished nothing with their senseless shutdown, except to show - without a doubt - that they do not put Americans first."
Congressman Hamadeh and his staff have been working tirelessly during the Democrats' shutdown to do what they can to provide ready assistance to the people of Arizona's 8th Congressional District. Now, they will continue to provide assistance with a fervor fueled by the Democrats' failure.
"We are energized," stated Congressman Hamadeh. "We know we have our work cut out for us as the nation recovers from the Democrats' misguided shutdown. While my team has been staying on top of casework and legislation, the shutdown prevented us from having full access to the personnel and services taxpayers pay for. As a result, we are going to be working overtime to ensure that we minimize the damage the Democrats created. I encourage my constituents to reach out to my office for any assistance with federal agencies they might have."
