Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Seven to the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Brandon Barclay, Todd Garrison, Chase Horne, Steadman Stahl, and Billy Woods and the reappointment of Robert Bage and Wayne Ivey to the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.

Brandon Barclay

Barclay is a Police Officer for the Tampa Police Department. Active in his community, he currently serves as the President of the Tampa Police Benevolent Association and previously served as a Detention Deputy for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Barclay attended Hillsborough Community College and St. Leo University.

Todd Garrison

Garrison is the Chief of Police for the City of North Port. Active in his community, he currently serves as the District 1 Director for the Florida Police Chiefs Association, is the Vice Chair of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission Region 10 Training Council, and serves on the FBI National Academy of Florida Board of Directors. Garrison earned his bachelor's degree from Hodges University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Chase Horne

Horne is a Sergeant for the Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Active in his community, he currently serves as a member of the Florida Deputy Sheriff's Association and was the recipient of the 2023 Escambia County Sheriff's Office Deputy of the Year Award. Horne earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Columbia Southern University.

Steadman Stahl

Stahl is a Sergeant for the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office. Active in his community, he is the President of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association and the Treasurer of the Florida Police Benevolent Association. Stahl is a graduate of the Miami Dade College Police Academy.

Billy Woods

Woods is the Marion County Sheriff. Active in his community, he currently serves as the Secretary of the Florida Sheriff's Association and is a Commissioner for the Commission of Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. Woods earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration and business management from Columbia Southern University.

Robert Bage

Bage is the Chief of Police for the City of Fort Walton Beach. Active in his community, he currently serves as the President of the Florida Police Chiefs Association Executive Board and is a member of the Florida County City Management Associations Professional Standard Committee. A veteran of the United States Navy, Bage earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Florida International University and his master's degree in public administration from Barry University.

Wayne Ivey

Ivey is the Brevard County Sheriff. Active in his community, he currently serves as a member of the Parole Qualifications Committee and is the Chairman of the Florida Sheriff's Association Training Committee. Ivey earned his bachelor's degree from Daytona State College.
