"My district includes multiple critical military installations, including: the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard-Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Naval Base Kitsap, and Tacoma Army Reserve Center," said Rep. Randall.
"I secured several provisions in the House's 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, including the Assuring Navigation of Compact Help for Ongoing Relocation for Military Families (ANCHOR) Act to strengthen relocation support for military families, and amendments to improve military housing, include Tribes in the Defense Community Infrastructure Program, and increase funding to the DCIP program. While the bill initially enjoyed bipartisan support in committee, I could not support the additions made to it on the floor -- which deny LGBTQ+ service members their rights, prevent families from making their own medical decisions, and continue a dangerous and dehumanizing political war on LGBTQ+ people just trying to live their lives and defend our country. I joined the majority of my Democratic colleagues in voting against this bill because supporting all troops and their families is non-negotiable. I will work with my Senate colleagues to remove these harmful provisions and pass a bill that truly strengthens national security while protecting all service members' rights."
