Bettendorf Fire Responds to 1329 Golden Valley Drive

March 1, 2026 - On Saturday, February 28 at 11:52 p.m., the Bettendorf Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a possible structure fire.

When they arrived, crews found no fire conditions on the outside of the structure. The homeowner stated that their carbon monoxide detector had woken them up and they could smell something burning. Upon further investigation, crews located active burning inside a crawl space, inside a fireplace chase, as well as an attic space.

Crews extinguished the fire but had an extensive amount of overhaul to perform in all these areas to confirm there was no fire extension or smoldering fires. There were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The Bettendorf Fire Department was assisted by the Davenport Fire Department, the Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department, and Medic EMS of Scott County.
