Minister Konaković received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Al Wasedy, for his inaugural visit

On February 27, 2026, Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, welcomed Anas Abdulrahman O. Al Wasedy, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during his inaugural visit.

The two officials reaffirmed the friendly and cooperative bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Minister Konaković emphasized the significance of maintaining stable and meaningful relations, noting Saudi Arabia's ongoing assistance in the reconstruction of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including various development projects and new investments.

The Minister expressed particular gratitude to the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) for its support for several projects, notably the construction of the University Library at the University of Sarajevo.

He also conveyed his satisfaction with the strengthening of economic ties, especially in the tourism sector. Konaković emphasized the importance of the decision to waive visa requirements for Saudi citizens during the summer season, which he believes will foster greater tourism and collaboration.

Furthermore, Konaković updated the Ambassador on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular focus on the country's path toward European integration. He underscored that this process is vital for the stability and prospects of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it opens up opportunities for foreign investments and fosters stronger economic growth.

Ambassador Al Wasedy stated his commitment to enhancing the existing relations between the two nations, which have historically been characterized by mutual respect and friendship.
