Mikhail Mishustin and President of China Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping (retranslated) : Prime Minister Mishustin, I know that you are accompanied by almost all the deputy prime ministers and key ministers. Today, on Russia's National Unity Day, I would like to congratulate you and members of the Russian delegation on this holiday.
I welcome your visit to China two years after the previous trip. You are a good friend to the Chinese people and have been working hard for the past few years to promote our multidimensional cooperation. I praise your positive contribution.
This year, amidst international turbulence, China-Russia relations continued to progress steadily in their high-level, high-quality development.
President Putin and I have met twice, in Moscow and Beijing. We held an in-depth exchange of views on a wide range of strategic topics in China-Russia relations. We have outlined new plans and set new guideposts. It is fair to say that the high level of strategic mutual trust and close contact between our heads of state is the key guarantee for the stable and consistent development of our overarching strategic partnership.
Yesterday, you and Premier of the State Council Li Qiang successfully co-chaired the 30th Regular Meeting of the Chinese and Russian Heads of Government, conducting a comprehensive revision and summarising our cooperation across different areas. You have shown constructive results.
I hope you will be able to maintain close coordination and implement the agreements between myself and President Putin and, guided by the fundamental interests of our two nations, deepen our bilateral cooperation to contribute greatly not only to the development of our countries but also to the peace and progress around the globe.
I know from the news that you recently visited Hangzhou. I worked there for many years. I lived near West Lake and have memories of strolling along its shores. It's a place I still love to return to.
Mikhail Mishustin: President Xi Jinping, I am delighted to meet with you again. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you and our Chinese friends for the traditionally warm welcome given to the Russian delegation both in Hangzhou and here in Beijing. Indeed, Hangzhou is a beautiful and magnificent place. We all enjoyed the visit.
I would like to pass on warmest regards and best wishes from President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
Following your talks with the Russian leader in Moscow last May and in Beijing this past September, decisions were adopted to continue strengthening the overarching partnership and strategic cooperation between Russia and China.
The anniversary year, when we celebrate 80 years of Victory over Nazi Germany and the militarist Japan in World War II, is ending. For the friendly nations of Russia and China, it is a sacred holiday that we celebrated together.
Mr President, congratulations on the success of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. I am confident that the strategic goals of China's economic development for the next five years will certainly be achieved.
My colleague, Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, and I oversee the coordinated work to implement the decisions adopted by the presidents, at the governmental level. Exactly for this purpose, we held the 30th Regular Meeting of the Russian and Chinese Heads of Government in Hangzhou. We discussed the entire scope of bilateral issues and outlined new tasks furthering our cooperation in trade, the economy, science and technology.
It is important to continue creating favourable conditions for attracting mutual investment and maintaining our joint projects. We value our strong cultural and humanitarian links that rely on the good traditions of friendship and affinity between the Russian and Chinese peoples. We praise the success of the cross-years of culture, confident that the upcoming cross-years of education, which you and President Vladimir Putin agreed upon, will have a busy and interesting programme.
Mr President, I am ready to discuss the key issues on the Russian-Chinese agenda with you.
Thank you.
