Winnipeg, MB - Today, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.
Magnus Avenue fire
At 3:42 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a multi-family home in the 1600 block of Magnus Avenue.
At the scene, firefighters found and attacked a fire. They declared the situation under control at 4:10 p.m. No injuries were reported. The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to provide temporary support for displaced residents.
No damage estimates are available, but preliminary observations suggest the fire was contained to the suite where it started. The fire is under investigation.
Lisgar Avenue fire
At 5:14 p.m. on Monday March 30, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant house in the 0-100 block of Lisgar Avenue.
At the scene, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the house. They used a defensive attack to protect neighbouring structures until it was safe to switch to an offensive attack. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 6:09 p.m.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
