Today, on Endangered Species Day, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting the world's most vulnerable wildlife. At Grindrod, we believe that protecting biodiversity is a shared responsibility that we take seriously.
As part of our ongoing sustainability and conservation efforts, we have launched a dedicated initiative focused on safeguarding rhinos from the threat of poaching. These magnificent creatures are critically endangered, with illegal poaching driven by the demand for rhino horns pushing them to the brink of extinction.
Through strategic partnerships with leading conservation NGOs, we work with the Zululand Rhino Orphanage. This non-profit organisation rescues and rehabilitates rhino calves who have lost their mothers to poachers. The orphanage works tirelessly to protect and conserve the wildlife in the region, playing an essential role in protecting this precious species. The funds donated contribute towards saving a rhino's life that would otherwise have been lost to poachers.
Together with our partners, teams, and customers, we are proud to be part of the global movement to protect endangered species.
