Peacock Gap Park Playground Improvement Project Update: 5/9/2025

Peacock Gap Park construction continues to progress!

The City's Contractor, Rapid Grading Services Inc, has prepared the toddler play area for equipment and fence installation and laid the subgrade and rebar for the walkway between the two play areas.

The team determined that it would be best to remove the existing tree in the toddler play area once we were able to more closely look at it's condition during construction. The tree was clearly in decline and would have needed to be removed within the next couple of years if it had not been removed now.

A Silver Maple tree will be planted in its place, and we hope that it will recreate the environment the previous cotton tree did.
