Traffic Safety Committee Applications Due July 28

CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
NOTICE OF RECRUITMENT
FOR SPECIAL TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE VACANCY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City is currently conducting a recruitment to fill one seat on the Traffic Safety Committee. This is a volunteer, non-paying position, with an unexpired term of office ending in June 2028.

Traffic Safety Committee

The five-member Traffic Safety Committee serves as a public forum for traffic related issues such as placement of traffic control devices, consideration of traffic calming solutions, and other traffic measures. The Committee also provides comments and recommendations to the City Council regarding permit parking. The Traffic Safety Committee generally meets on the 4th Monday, every other month at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall and in a hybrid format. The City is recruiting for one vacancy with a term of office ending in June 2028.

Those interested in applying must submit an application to the City Clerk's Office by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025. The ideal applicant would have a general understanding of the City and of the committee functions. An applicant must also be a resident of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. Interviews with the City Council are tentatively scheduled to take place on August 5, 2025, Fred Hesse Community Park, McTaggart Hall in person or via zoom. The City Clerk's Office will confirm the date and time of the interviews with the applicants. The dates are subject to change based on the number of applicants.
