UAA's Thune to lead GNAC all-stars to Portugal

Portland, Oregon (Aug. 14) - UAA women's basketball head coach Matt Thune will lead a group of Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) all-stars on a trip to Portugal next spring for the league's inaugural Eurobasket tour.

Scheduled for May 12-21, 2027, the tour will feature four exhibition games against various Portuguese professional squads, along with well-planned excursions to the country's extensive cultural and historical sites.

"This is an incredible opportunity to promote our league on the international stage and give GNAC student-athletes the chance to compete against high-quality professionals as they strive to continue their post-collegiate careers overseas," said Thune, who led UAA to a 16-11 record in his first season. "We're appreciative that Eurobasket has made this trip possible and hope to represent NCAA Division II women's basketball at its finest."

Complete information on the tour, including day-by-day schedule and pricing, is available online.
