In the era of AI, one thing is clear: data is the fuel for transformation. But for many companies, fragmented data and complex pricing models have made it harder to unlock the full value of their investments. That's why more businesses are choosing Salesforce Data Cloud and Agentforce - to break down silos, unify data, and power intelligent, AI-driven customer experiences.
At Salesforce, we're committed to making this transformation easier, faster, and more accessible. Following new flexible pricing options for Agentforce introduced earlier this year, we're announcing new updates to Data Cloud pricing and packaging designed to simplify how you ingest data, scale usage, and understand your costs - so you can get more value from your data and AI investments.
Salesforce Data Cloud helps you bring all of your company's data together - from Salesforce apps, data lakes, warehouses, and business systems - and harmonize it into a single source of truth. With that foundation, you can unlock real-time insights and intelligent actions that power automation, AI experiences, and better business decisions across every department.
Built natively on the Salesforce platform, Data Cloud fuels your Customer 360 apps and Agentforce, while also enhancing the value of your existing data lakes or warehouses. And with easy, low-code tools, your teams can connect data streams, unify profiles, and activate insights without heavy technical overhead.
Data Cloud uses a flexible, consumption-based pricing model that adapts to your business needs. Here's how it works:
This model gives you flexibility, transparency, and predictability. You can start small, scale as you grow, and get full value from your data and AI investments. And with today's updates, we're removing even more friction from the process.
1. You can now ingest structured Salesforce Data for free
One of the first steps many customers take in Data Cloud is to bring in data from other Salesforce products. Until now, that used up credits. Now, you can bring in structured data from Salesforce at no cost. This includes data ingested from four connectors: Salesforce Core (Sales and Service Cloud), Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Personalization, and Commerce Cloud. This change removes a major upfront cost and helps you start unifying your data faster - without using up your credits.
With Salesforce data flowing freely into Data Cloud, your organization can unlock insights faster, power more intelligent automations, and enhance personalization across the customer experience. For example, you can now ground AI-powered agents in structured knowledge from these four connectors - at no cost.
2. One simple credit, more flexibility
We also understand that pricing complexity can slow down adoption. To address this, we've simplified our credit model. Previously, Data Cloud credits were segmented into four separate types across sandbox and production. We have now consolidated these into one flexible, fungible credit that can be used across all Data Cloud functions. All of your existing sandbox and/or segmentation & activation credits have been merged into Data Service Credits.
This change reduces complexity in purchasing and planning. You no longer need to predict exact usage across multiple categories just to enable different use cases. A single credit gives you the freedom to run the services your business needs - across sandbox and production, from ingestion to activation. Additionally, sandbox credit multipliers are set at a 20% discount compared to production to encourage testing and development.
With fewer decision points and more flexibility, you can scope more efficiently, adjust as your needs evolve, and move faster through procurement and implementation.
3. Better visibility into real-time usage with digital wallet
Uncertainty around consumption can be a challenge. That's why we're enhancing Digital Wallet by providing more granular insight into your Data Cloud consumption.
Digital Wallet now offers "under the hood" usage-tagging insights into the consumption drivers behind each meter. You'll be able to see exactly what's driving usage at the specific feature level. Customers have access to out-of-the-box reports or can build custom reports to slice and dice the data as desired. Users can also add consumption threshold alerts to receive key notifications at the most opportune time for their business.
This increased transparency helps you understand your usage patterns better, forecast costs more accurately, and ultimately optimize your usage to get the most from every credit.
4. Explore pricing on your own terms with a new calculator
We've heard your feedback that you want to better understand Data Cloud pricing upfront and how we ultimately land on your final Data Cloud price.
To achieve this, we have launched a new external pricing calculator to help you explore and understand Data Cloud pricing on your own terms. We also have supporting content to help you better understand our pricing model and walk you through real-world scenarios such as proactive service, personalized marketing journeys, data-driven agents, and zero-copy federation.
This new experience aligns your team around the value of Data Cloud, reduces friction in the buying process, and speeds up your path to value.
At Salesforce, we're deeply committed to helping you unlock the full value of your data. We've heard that our pricing model needed to be easier to understand, more predictable, and more flexible - and we've taken that feedback seriously.
"These enhancements reflect our commitment to putting customers first," said Rahul Auradkar, EVP & GM, Unified Data Services & Einstein at Salesforce. "By simplifying pricing, removing Salesforce ingestion costs, and increasing transparency, we're making it easier for organizations to unlock the full value of their data and scale AI across their business with confidence."
Your insights are invaluable, and they've guided our efforts to create a pricing model that empowers growth, rather than slowing it down. These updates are all about helping you get started faster, grow more confidently, and focus on what matters most: driving business outcomes.
