Volunteers revitalize shared community space supporting women, senior citizens
CAMARMA, Spain, Sept. 25, 2025 - PPG (NYSE: PPG) today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project that helped renovate a building in Camarma de Esteruelas, Spain shared by the local Women's Cultural Association and the Senior Citizens' Association. The initiative brought together more than 25 volunteers from PPG, local associations and the community.
The renewed facility and outdoor areas will directly benefit more than 150 residents, offering a brighter, safer and more engaging environment.
PPG provided $47,000 (40,000 euros) to support the project, including more than 132 gallons (500 liters) of SEIGNEURIE® and BONDEX® paints by PPG. These included Seigneurie Perloxane TT paint, a lightweight, mineral-matte facade product designed for high performance. Thanks to its innovative Light & Easy technology, the paint is significantly easier to lift, handle and apply, reducing strain for professionals.
The project focused on enhancing the interior and exterior of the facility, which plays a vital role in promoting social inclusion, cultural engagement and well-being for women and older adults. The volunteers also painted a mural on the playground under the guidance of the local muralist Manuel Ojeda, which celebrates intergenerational relationships, especially the bonds between children and seniors.
"This renovation means so much to our members," said Concha Cantón, Representative of the Senior Citizens' Association. "The building is not just a meeting place, it's where we share stories, learn new things and support one another. Having a brighter, safer and more accessible space will allow us to expand our activities and welcome more seniors into our community."
The renewed facility and outdoor areas will directly benefit more than 150 residents, offering a brighter, safer and more engaging environment that fosters participation and community spirit.
"This project reflects our commitment to creating vibrant, inclusive spaces that bring communities together," said Carlos Maria Urrutia, PPG plant manager, Camarma. "By combining the talents of our employees, local partners and residents, we're proud to help transform a space that supports connection, creativity and care across generations."
The Colorful Communities program combines volunteer efforts, PPG products and financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world such as Camarma, where the company has a manufacturing facility for automotive coatings.
"For our association, this project is transformative," said Carmen Sánchez, Representative of the Women's Cultural Association. "The refreshed spaces will energize our cultural programs and workshops and the new equipment will help us reach more women with educational and creative opportunities. It's a powerful message of inclusion and care and we're thrilled to see our community come together to make it happen."
PPG has expanded the Colorful Communities program for an additional 10 years and will commit a further $10 million to the program, taking its total investment to $25 million through 2035. To build on the positive impacts of the program, PPG and the PPG Foundation will also distribute a total of $1 million in celebration grants to 100 previous and current Colorful Communities partners globally this year.
Through the Colorful Communities program, PPG's committed volunteers contribute their time and PPG paint products to help transform community assets - from painting classrooms to bringing color to a maternity ward and redesigning a playground. Since 2015, PPG has completed nearly 600 Colorful Communities projects, impacting more than 10.2 million people in over 50 countries.
