Dentons Advances Coordinated Litigation Strategy for Yealink with Follow-On Victories in Patent Dispute

April 15, 2026

Following its jury trial victory in federal court less than five months ago, Dentons' Intellectual Property and Technology team has secured significant follow-on wins for Yealink Network Technology Co., Ltd., further narrowing the scope and posture of the patent dispute brought by global competitor Barco, Inc.

After the Eastern District of Texas jury agreed with Yealink's arguments and rejected Barco's claims of ongoing and willful infringement, the Dentons team successfully invalidated four of the six asserted patents in inter partes review proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office. The team also forced the remaining two asserted patents into formal reexamination proceedings, placing the validity of all patents asserted against Yealink under active review.

These developments follow directly from a coordinated litigation strategy that combined trial advocacy with targeted Patent Office proceedings to address both infringement claims and patent validity in tandem. Together with the jury verdict, these outcomes further reinforce the Dentons team's strategic approach to complex patent disputes and its commitment to delivering client successes fully aligned with their short- and long-term business objectives.

The Dentons team in these matters is led by Intellectual Property and Technology partner Stephen Yang. The Patent Office proceedings were led by Yang, counsel Kevin Greenleaf, and managing associate Forrest Gothia. The jury trial was led by Yang and partner Victor Johnson, with key contributions from Gothia and Litigation senior managing associate Haley Eastham.

Dentons continues to represent Yealink in these matters and remains focused on delivering strategic, disciplined representation in complex intellectual property disputes.
