The Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, visited the 306 Base Telecommunications Factory in Acharnai today, Wednesday 17 June 2026.
Mr. Davakis was accompanied by the Deputy Commander of Higher Military Command of Army Support (ΑΣΔΥΣ) Major General Dimitrios Arabatzis, the Commander of Military Factories Command (ΑΣΔΥΣ/ΔΙΣΕ) Brigadier General Efstahtios Gkotsis, the Director HAGS/D5 Brigadier General Apostolos Konstantopoulos, the Deputy Director HAGS/TECH CORPS DIR Colonel Dimitrios Rizoudis and the Commander of 306 Base Telecommunications Factory Colonel Thomas Peppas.
During his visit, the Deputy Minister was briefed on the 306 Base Telecommunications Factory's mission, with particular emphasis on its production capabilities. Mr. Davakis was given a tour of the assembly line and the testing laboratories for unmanned systems, and was briefed in detail on the maintenance of the Armed Forces' telecommunications equipment and the strict quality assurance procedures in place.
After the visit, Mr. Davakis stated:
«The 306 Base Telecommunications Factory is evolving into a modern hub of technological innovation for the Armed Forces. Today, I witnessed firsthand the outstanding work being done in the research and domestic production of unmanned systems.
In accordance with the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Dendias' guidelines and through the Factory's operational integration with the Hellenic Center for Defence Innovation (HCDI) and the Hellenic Research Technological Development and Innovation Center, we are ushering in a new era for our defence industry by incorporating cutting-edge technologies that address contemporary threats on the battlefield.
I would like to congratulate the unit's military and civilian personnel. Their high level of expertise and dedication ensure the self-sufficiency of the Army and safeguard our homeland".
