Robinson’s Bill Helping Disabled Veterans Enjoy Outdoor Activities Passes Senate

HARRISBURG - Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) announced the Senate passed his legislation this week supporting opportunities for Pennsylvania's heroes to participate in outdoor traditions.

Senate Bill 533 would streamline requirements for hunting and furtaking licenses and refine special permits for regulated hunting grounds to specifically benefit disabled veterans who take part in hunting events. The legislation makes it easier for organizations to host hunts for disabled veterans by clarifying the permitting process and reducing unnecessary barriers, ensuring more veterans can be included in these events.

"By passing Senate Bill 533, the Senate has reaffirmed our commitment to honoring the service and sacrifice of disabled veterans," said Robinson. "This bill will simplify the process for disabled veterans to participate in hunting events, ensuring they have every opportunity to enjoy meaningful outdoor experiences. Our veterans have given so much to us, and this is one way we can give back."

With Senate approval, the legislation now advances to the House of Representatives for consideration.

"This is not just a change in law but a reflection of our deep respect and gratitude for the men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom," Robinson said.
