Rosen Helps Secures More Than $290,000 in Federal Funding for Tribes in Nevada

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S Senator Jacky Rosen has helped secure over $290,000 in federal funding for the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California. This funding comes as part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Tribal Wildlife Grants program that supports conservation projects in Tribal communities across the United States. Each year, Senator Rosen requests funding for the State and Tribal Wildlife Grants program to make sure Nevada has the resources to protect, manage, and promote wildlife conservation.

"Nevada is home to an incredible and diverse range of wildlife that are important to our Tribal communities and help sustain ecosystems across our state," said Senator Rosen. "I am proud to have helped secure this federal funding to support the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California with their conservation efforts."

Senator Rosen is a strong supporter of Tribal communities in Nevada. Last year, she helped secure more than $700,000 to improve transportation for Tribal communities in Nevada. Last Congress, she also helped secure over $1.3 billion in funding for housing in Tribal communities, and joined colleagues in requesting robust funding for tribal law enforcement.
