The N.C. General Assembly passed Iryna's Law over the span of three days of debate in Raleigh.
The soft-on-crime policies championed by former Gov. Roy Cooper, current Gov. Josh Stein, and Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls have no place in North Carolina and must be eradicated. This legislation begins the work to do just that, but it appears Stein isn't on board with keeping communities safer.
In an embarrassing interview on CNN Thursday, Stein demurred and gave a rambling answer about why he wouldn't sign the bill.
This isn't hard. Sign the bill and keep North Carolina communities safe from violent, repeat criminals.
"Not only is Governor Stein refusing to sign a bill that unquestionably makes North Carolina safer, he's hiding behind platitudes and consulting his left-wing donors about the decision instead of doing the right thing for our state," said NCGOP Communications Director Matt Mercer.
