FASEB Statement in Response to FY 2027 Administration Budget Request
Wednesday, April 15, 2026FASEB issued a statement expressing grave concerns about the administration's fiscal year (FY) 2027 budget request. If enacted, the proposed 12 percent cut to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the nearly 55 percent cut to the National Science Foundation (NSF) budgets will severely erode progress in biomedical and biological research and slow the development of new treatments and cures. The statement also urged Congress to reject the administration's budget and approve FASEB's FY 2027 funding requests.
