On September 22, 2025, Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) was made aware that 477 camera radar citations were mailed without printed information regarding registered owner, vehicle, or violation. We immediately contacted the vendor, Verra Mobility, who owns the camera radar equipment, processes the violations, and mails them to the vehicle's registered owner. It was discovered that citations for valid speeding violations were issued from the stationary camera radar unit, located at the 800 block of West Prospect Road, but the necessary information had not been printed on them before being mailed. After the vendor realized the issue, they then mailed completed copies of the citations to the registered owners.

FCPS appreciates the frustration our citizens may feel when receiving something official in the mail that is missing information or seems to be a duplication, especially when we are all on the lookout for scams. To address any confusion or concern this printing error may have raised for those who were cited, the City Attorney's Office is dismissing citations that were impacted.

What you need to know:

If you were issued an errant citation (described above) between September 4 and September 17, 2025, the case will be dismissed and you will not have to pay the fine. This applies to both the original citation (missing information) and the follow up completed citation (for the original violation).

If you have already paid, please contact the Fort Collins Municipal Court by email at [email protected], so they can provide you with refund information. This applies only to tickets within the defined timeframe that were not printed with the registered owner, vehicle, or violation information.

If you have questions about the status of a camera radar citation you received related to this incident, please contact Fort Collins Municipal Court. If you have general questions about the camera radar program you can contact the FCPS Camera Radar Coordinator, Stephan Sparacio, at 970-416-2236.
