The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning today, January 7, until 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, for inland Orange County, the Santa Ana Mountains, and Foothills that will bring 35 to 45 mph winds from the northeast, with occasional strong wind gusts of over 75 mph.
Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Please be cautious of downed trees, debris, power lines, and low visibility caused by dust.
Call 911 to report downed power lines.
The City of Santa Ana Public Works dispatch will have extended hours during the windstorm, and we are adding extra staff who are prepared to work overtime to respond to wind-related calls.
