The Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society is pleased to announce that the 2026 edition of Western Legal History will focus on the modern history and legal significance of American bankruptcy law from 1970 to the present.
The special issue will be guest edited by Judge Scott C. Clarkson, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California. Judge Clarkson has served on the bankruptcy bench for over fifteen years and brings a wealth of experience to this project, including years in private practice as a bankruptcy attorney and direct congressional involvement in drafting the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1978.
