For Immediate Release: Monday, April 6, 2026

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will be the featured guest on the 14th anniversary of Montgomery al Día (Montgomery Today), the County's award-winning Spanish-language radio show, during a special live broadcast at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. The anniversary will also mark the program's 659th episode.

Hosted and produced by Lorna Virgilí since its inception in April 2012, the program airs every Tuesday at 2 p.m. on Radio America WACA 900 AM and is livestreamed on the County's Spanish-language Facebook page at MontgomeryCountyEnEspanol .

"Montgomery al Día has been a vital part of our communications and equity efforts for 14 years, making sure our Hispanic and Latino communities get timely, relevant information in their own language," said Montgomery County Executive Elrich. "This will be the last anniversary I celebrate as county executive. I want to congratulate Lorna Virgilí for her steadfast dedication. She's made it easier for Spanish-speaking residents to connect with county government and get the help they need. I've always enjoyed being a guest, and I'm proud to celebrate this milestone with her and the community that relies on this show."

The County Executive will outline his FY27 Recommended Operating Budget and discuss the Trust Act, along with the recently passed County Values Act, Bill 3-26, which aims to protect immigrant communities by increasing local safeguards against violent or illegal actions by ICE. He will also highlight upcoming Earth Month celebrations in the county .

Since launching in 2012, Montgomery al Día has hosted more than 400 guests and received national recognition from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for its innovative approach to multilingual outreach. The program has contributed to increased Hispanic engagement in County services, public forums and the MC311 helpline.

The County's Office of Public Information has expanded Spanish-language outreach through news briefs and PSAs during the morning show Calentando la Mañana (Warming Up the Morning), the longest-running talk show on WACA 900 AM.
