River Talks continues this September with four free opportunities to celebrate, explore, and learn about the Santa Fe River, its watershed, and the systems that manage our community's water. Join us for a community storytelling event, an upper watershed hike, and behind-the-scenes tours of local water facilities.
All events are free and open to the public. Advance registration is required for tours due to limited space.

Share your connection through a poem, story, letter, song, meaningful object, or whatever moves you. The first 20 people to sign up to share are guaranteed a spot, and a waitlist will be available at the door.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the systems that help protect, treat, and manage Santa Fe's water. Space is limited, so advance registration is required.
Upper Watershed Hike and Nichols Reservoir Tour
Saturday, September 19 | 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join the City and the Santa Fe Watershed Association for a 5-mile round-trip hike through The Nature Conservancy's Santa Fe Canyon Preserve and into the Santa Fe Municipal Watershed. The excursion includes a rare opportunity to tour the new pretreatment facility and metering vault at Nichols Dam, led by Jonathan Montoya, Canyon Road Treatment Plant Manager.
Registration is limited to 12 participants.

Buckman Direct Diversion Water Treatment Plant Tour
Tuesday, September 22 | 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Learn about the Buckman Direct Diversion Water Treatment Plant and how water from the Rio Grande is treated for Santa Fe's potable water supply.

Tour the Paseo Real Wastewater Treatment Plant to learn how Santa Fe's wastewater is treated and how effluent is returned to the Santa Fe River.
