Online Voting New to 2025 Board Election

Midwest Energy is giving members the option of voting online or by traditional mailed-in paper ballot in the 2025 Board of Directors election.

Ballots were mailed to customers on Sept. 12, 2025. Once received, members can decide to scan the QR code on their paper ballot to vote securely online through Oct. 9, or to complete the paper ballot and mail it in. Mailed ballots postmarked by Oct. 9 will be counted. Any ballots that arrive at Survey and Ballot Systems (SBS) after Oct. 13 will not be counted.

A sequence number, unique to each member, prevents double-voting either by paper or online. if a member casts both a paper and electronic ballot, only the paper ballot will be counted.

Election winners will be announced at the Annual Meeting, held on Monday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 221 W. 43rd St., in Hays.

Midwest Energy has retained SBS of Eden Prairie, Minn., to conduct the online election and vote tabulation. SBS has 30 years of election management experience, and provides election support to more than 350 election co-ops, ag co-ops and credit unions nationwide.
