FedEx Earns IATA CEIV Pharma Certification for Its Incheon Gateway in Korea

SEOUL, South Korea, September 2, 2026 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world's largest express transportation companies, announced that its FedEx Incheon Gateway at Incheon International Airport has achieved the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) Pharma certification. This milestone brings FedEx's total number of CEIV Pharma certifications across its global air hubs and cargo handling facilities to 30, reinforcing the company's commitment to precision, quality, and excellence in transporting critical, temperature-sensitive shipments for the healthcare industry.
The IATA CEIV Pharma certification is a globally recognized standard for service excellence in the air transportation of pharmaceutical products. It ensures the safety, security, compliance, and efficiency of handling and transporting time- and temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, such as biologics and clinical trials. The certification is awarded following a rigorous assessment of more than 280 criteria, covering pharmaceutical handling procedures, storage facilities, and equipment management practices.

FedEx Incheon Gateway is exceptionally equipped to handle temperature-sensitive healthcare shipments. Spanning more than 23,000 square meters, the facility features a 120-square-meter temperature-controlled storage area with a 24/7 real-time monitoring system, alongside three dedicated chambers compliant with Good Distribution Practice to meet freezer, chiller, and controlled ambient requirements.
