Statement of AUC Chairperson on The Devastating Wildfires in Algeria

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, expresses his profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the People's Democratic Republic of #Algeria following the devastating wildfires that have claimed lives, caused injuries and displaced communities across several provinces.

The Chairperson extends his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and wishes a swift and full recovery to those injured. He commends the Algerian authorities, emergency services and all first responders for their courageous efforts to contain the fires and protect affected communities.
