Vacancy: Deputy Director General of the CBSS Secretariat

The CBSS Secretariat is recruiting its Deputy Director General, appointed for a period of four years with the possibility of a prolongation of up to two years.

The Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) is inviting applications for the position of Deputy Director General (DDG) at its International Secretariat in Stockholm. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director General, supporting the leadership and management of the Secretariat.

Role Overview

As the Deputy Director General, the incumbent will provide strategic advice to the Director General, assist in the planning of Member States' presidency periods, and ensure that the Secretariat's operations comply with relevant legal and administrative frameworks. The incumbent will also function as Head of Administration, coordinating and supervising the activities of attached support functions.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must be nationals of a CBSS Member State, possess a university degree in a relevant field, and have at least ten years of professional experience, including five years in management roles. Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential, alongside experience in project management and familiarity with administrative and budgetary processes.
