Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Yang Yundong Visits the Cyprus Red Cross Society

On July 27, 2026, Ambassador of China to Cyprus Yang Yundong visited the Cyprus Red Cross Society, where he met with Madame Fotini Papadopoulou, former First Lady of Cyprus and President of the Cyprus Red Cross Society. 

Ambassador Yang noted that the Cyprus Red Cross Society has actively carried out humanitarian work, making important contributions to Cyprus' social development and the well-being of its people. The Chinese Embassy in Cyprus will continue to support the organization, and facilitate its interactions with the Chinese counterpart, so as to further enrich the China-Cyprus strategic partnership.

Madame Papadopoulou warmly welcomed Ambassador Yang, briefed him on the work of the Cyprus Red Cross Society, and fondly recalled her visits to China. She appreciated the long-standing support of the Chinese side for the organization, and expressed hope to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with the Chinese side, and help deepen the traditional friendship between the two peoples.
