Trailer Bridge Realigns Leadership Around Puerto Rico Jones Act Service

Tony Kvasnicka named Chief Operating Officer and Whitney Ennis named President of Ocean as carrier strengthens operations and customer strategy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - August 12, 2026 - Trailer Bridge, Inc. today announced a strategic realignment of its executive leadership team as the carrier continues to sharpen its focus on its Jones Act service between Jacksonville and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Effective immediately, Tony Kvasnicka has been named Chief Operating Officer, expanding his leadership role across Trailer Bridge's asset-based operations, including port operations, barge and asset maintenance, truck operations and support services. Whitney Ennis has been named President of Ocean, overseeing the company's customer experience, pricing and marketing teams.

The leadership changes mark the latest step in a broader realignment of Trailer Bridge's business around its Puerto Rico service. In late 2025, the company sold its domestic Logistics Division, a strategic decision designed to refocus the organization on its asset-based operations in the Puerto Rico trade lane while continuing its international freight forwarding and government services.

"We are being very intentional about the Trailer Bridge we are building for the future," said Trailer Bridge CEO Mitch Luciano. "Puerto Rico is where our company began, it's the heartbeat of our business, and our commitment to serving the island is driving how we invest in our assets, our people and the customer experience."

Tony, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, joined Trailer Bridge in 2017 to manage vessel operations and was promoted to Vice President in 2023 before being named President of Ocean in 2025. In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, Tony will continue leading the company's asset-based operations with broader responsibility for operational performance and the teams and resources that support Trailer Bridge's service.

Whitney, a Jacksonville native with nearly 15 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, joined Trailer Bridge in 2021 to lead the company's marketing strategy and was promoted to Vice President in 2023. In her new role as President of Ocean, Whitney will bring customer experience, pricing and marketing under her leadership, aligning the teams responsible for how Trailer Bridge's service is positioned, priced and delivered to its customers.

"Tony has been instrumental in strengthening our operation, and his appointment as COO reflects the importance of operational excellence as we prepare for what's next. Whitney brings a deep understanding of our industry, our customers and the Jacksonville-Puerto Rico trade. Together, their leadership will help us challenge how we operate, how we serve our customers, and where we invest next. This is one part of a larger strategy to ensure Trailer Bridge is positioned to serve Puerto Rico for decades to come," added Luciano.

The company recently invested more than $9 million in its roll-on, roll-off barge fleet through back-to-back dry docks. The roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) and load-on, load-off (LoLo) barges provide weekly service between Jacksonville and San Juan supporting the movement of containers, autos, temperature-controlled freight, oversized and breakbulk equipment and more.

Founded in 1991 by transportation pioneer Malcom McLean, Trailer Bridge was established to serve the Puerto Rico trade lane with its ocean-going barges. The company holds long-term commitments to its Jacksonville and San Juan operations, including a lease with the Jacksonville Port Authority extending through at least 2041 and a 20-year lease agreement with the Puerto Rico Ports Authority.
