Washington, D.C. - The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids mourns the passing of Elvina Majiwa, one of the tobacco control movement's brightest stars and a passionate young advocate from Kenya.

Elvina was an inaugural member of the Global Young Ambassadors for Tobacco Control program, an initiative of Tobacco-Free Kids designed to ensure long-term sustainability in the global tobacco control movement. Elvina joined peers from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America to hold the tobacco industry accountable and fight for a healthier world.

Elvina's passion and commitment to tobacco control and a better future for all Kenyans were unmatched. Elvina was a gifted leader and a thoughtful, strategic and unrelenting advocate for public health. Her loss is felt deeply in Kenya, Africa and around the world.

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids continues our work in Africa and around the world in Elvina's honor as we fight for a healthier, more just future for all.
