Morton celebrates 30 years of state service

Craig Morton, Network Service Technician III in the Kansas Department of Transportation's Bureau of Maintenance, has achieved a career milestone and is celebrating 30 years of valued service to the state of Kansas.

Morton worked at Topeka FM Communications after attending Topeka Technical College. He began at KDOT in 1996, and he has spent his career focused on radio communications with the agency and other organizations across the state.

He is responsible for supporting the 800Mhz Kansas Statewide Interoperability Communications System, also known as KSICS. The system also is used by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, school districts and many city/county law enforcement and public safety organizations. Morton is the senior technician at the KDOT radio shop for northeast Kansas in Topeka, where he manages 12 radio tower sites.

He and his wife, Heather, just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and have two daughters, Darian and Hailey. They reside in Topeka.
